Jacundá Forest Reserve

The project is community-led and implemented on a specific Brazilian category of Protected Area in which traditional communities own the right to manage the resources. Resex Rio Preto-Jacundá REDD+ Project is a partnership between Biofílica, the Neighborhood Association of The Extractive Reserve Rio Preto-Jacundá (ASMOREX) and Rioterra NGO. In the Management Plan of the Reserve, specific areas have been marked for fishing, hunting and forest management.

Tri-City Forest Project

Holyoke, West Springfield, and Westfield are three towns that realize the impact climate change is having on our world. This is why they came together to protect a 6,500-acre piece of land between the three cities. The hardwoods, spruce fir, and other shrub species that call Massachusetts home are excellent at capturing and sequestering large quantities of greenhouse gas.

RMDLT Portel-Para Redd Project

This Portel-Pará REDD project is working to prevent unplanned deforestation in native forests, which has occurred due to logging, squatting and attempts to implement pastures. The project is expected to avoid over 22 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent greenhouse gas emissions over a 40 year period. This will be achieved by managing the land in the form of a "private conservation reserve", through rigorous monitoring and enforcement. From 2012 the project has scaled-up its monitoring activities by employing and properly training local villagers for monitoring and enforcement activities.

20 Million Trees for Kenya's Forests

"Kenya is one of the least forested countries in Africa, with only 7% tree cover. That equates to just 67 trees per person, compared to the global average of 420. Agricultural expansion, timber harvesting and charcoal burning led to massive deforestation in the 20th Century’’

Eden Reforestation Project

"Mozambique is located on the eastern coast of Africa with 68% of its population living in rural parts of the country. This Eastern African country is home to 20 globally threatened bird species, and over 200 endemic mammal species. With over 45% of the population living beneath the poverty line, the population relies heavily on its natural resources and forests for survival…’’

Eden Reforestation Project

Years of ecological devastation in Haiti has led to some serious consequences including, but not limited to, varying levels of crop failure, flooding, soil erosion and water table depletion. In Haiti, the destructive impact that environmental systems can have is exacerbated due to the lack of protection that native forests and mangrove systems provide. To combat this, Eden Projects has been working directly with local community leaders through partnerships, to plant, protect and guard trees to maturity. In doing so, Eden Projects hopes to help restore the natural environment as well as provide agroforestry trees for food security.

Eden Reforestation Project

"Eden Reforestation Projects is working to support poverty alleviation and environmental restoration across the country and has already planted over 3 million trees.

Starting in 2015, Eden has been working in 3 distinct regions across the country, including a partnership with Chitwan National Park, a World Heritage Site in Nepal.

By partnering with the National Park system, Eden Projects is helping to protect and create a reforested buffer zone that is vital to protect animal habitat."

International Planting Day

The special thing in the TreeChain Network project is the application of blockchain technology, AI, IoT, bigdata and biochip to the whole plant. This makes it easy to trace originality and protect the crop’s optimum through smart devices and D-App that TCN builds. TreeChain Network’s 11011 campaign means planting 110 million trees in just 11 hours in more than 50 countries around the globe. TreeChain Network’s 11011 campaign will take place on November 11, 2019.

Plant a Tree. Help an Orca

For this project, our amazing partners at ARCOS (Albertine Rift Conservation Society) will mentor and build the skills of 2,000 farmers to restore land while improving community livelihoods. Planting trees will help add nutrients to soil while controlling run-off and erosion. When properly managed, these trees will provide the local farmers with firewood, climbing bean poles, and fodder for their animals. For food security and income generation, farmers will plant avocado, lemon, and tree tomatoes.

Plant a Tree. Help an Orca

Our amazing partners are creating wildlife corridors with local vegetation and tree species from the Eastern Tiers to Central Highlands of Tasmania. Beyond protecting the habitats of seven endangered species, the longterm goals for this project are to establish 1.5 million native plants and sequester over 30,000 tonnes of carbon by 2030. Rebuilding these corridors will also help strengthen the environment against the impact of climate change, now and into the future.

Plant a Tree. Help an Orca

Planting trees in the tropical rainforests of Mindanao will improve water quality, create jobs, and protect and revive the livelihoods of indigenous communities surviving off of rainforest conservation. Most significantly, however, planting native tree species will have a remarkable impact on the habitats of several endangered species. The Philippines is home to over 1,000 species of wildlife, nearly half of which are endemic. This project will directly benefit several endangered species including the Philippine Tarsier and Philippine Eagle.

Reforestation

This project is a 5-year, multi-state effort. Our planting partners are looking to restore forests across all Appalachian states. The first phase we're participating is in Kentucky. Supporting this project will return formerly unproductive mining, logging, and agricultural land to balance. Planting trees here will also benefit nearby communities as hydrological function will be improved, thus providing them with better quality water. This project also creates meaningful jobs in communities suffering from high rates of poverty and unemployment. Our planting partners are also implementing conservation practices to ensure the forests are maintained sustainably for many more years to come.
